Tasanee Durrett | Don't redline meDon't Redline Me is a visual story about the negative impacts that redlining has had on communities of color, more particularly African American communities. Redlining was once practiced by city planners and loan servicers involving physically marking areas on a map, with a red marker, that were not to be sold to minorities. As a young, educated African American woman stands within segregated communities due to acts of redlining, she closes her eyes and dreams of a brighter future, where there is equitable access to homeownership and a desegregated way of living.
